I fell in love with this place two years ago while on a duck hunting trip. Loved meeting Teresa and Mark. Great people. Finally got a chance to take my wife Sheila as well as our friends Dan and Kristine. Now they know why I am so crazy about this restaurant and the owners. We will be back again soon.

We have never had a bad experience here. The food and staff are always great, i love that they change up the menu, you get great portions and options, and the restaurant itself is like sitting in a dream. It’s one of our favorite restaurants ever.

Spoon River is the pearl of Belhaven! We simply can not say enough wonderful things about this food, these people, and this beautiful space. We were blessed to have our wedding reception in the events space at Spoon River. Teresa and Mark went above and beyond to make our intimate wedding celebration dreams come true. Every detail was executed so well! The space was beautifully decorated with stunning flowers and art. Teresa delivered on our vision and included several sentimental pieces throughout the space. Samantha was so helpful from the beginning of wedding planning through the last moment of the reception and everything in between! Chef Paul and his team helped us craft a special menu for our guests and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our guests still rave about the delicious food they had that night. We could not have asked for more- it was perfect! A sincere and heartfelt “thank you” to the kind and hospitable Spoon River team for everything they did to make our wedding day so special!

What an absolutely amazing place and meal. Upon walking in me and my two girlfriends were greeted with a warm welcome and smile and seated. We were told about the appetizer and dinner specials and offered a drink. I got the meatballs as an appetizer for us all to share which had a great flavor and was delicious. For dinner I had the beef tips, huge portions and well seasoned. We were offered a desert of fresh blue berries and peaches with ice cream and whipped cream The server was very polite and attentive, the owner took time to check on us as well as chat about the place and a little bit about herself. The chef introduced himself as well. To say the experience was delightful is an understatement, an absolute amazing experience.

We are both 82. We came through Belhan on our yacht. I would rate Spoon River in my all-time 5 restaurants around the world. We stayed at the River Forrest Marina. It is an excellent marina with many amenities. The River Forrest Manor was closed on Monday. The dockmaster Johnathan recommended Spoon River to us. The Marina has loaner golf carts to get around town.

We are traveling the great American loop and came in to Belhaven marina for a few days. Spoon River was recommended by many other travelers before us so we went last night (5/17/24). Let me just say, this was MY ALL TIME FAVORITE experience yet! We were immediately greeted by the owner who helped us pick out a bottle of wine. I then ordered the very thick (cooked perfectly) pork chop with the most amazing potatoes & Brussel sprouts and my husband ordered the red snapper which was on top of asparagus on top of a corn bread type crust. Absolutely delicious!!! After dinner, we were treated to carrot cake AND the owner gave me a bundle of fresh cut peonies! Fresh cut flowers was an absolute treat since I’ve not bought any for myself since being on our boat. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

The staff, atmosphere (extra points for good music), and food really make this place a gem in Belhaven.They made a lovely to start and for my entree I had the Salmon with wild rice and asparagus. All topped off with the best carrot cake i’ve had to date. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

In the picteresque small town of Belhaven, right at the heart of the town, you will find Spoon River. The Fall Fizz, off of their signature cocktail menu, was a winner for a gin lover like myself. Beer and wine are also great options. As a bonus, you will find smart wine pairings below each entree. The real charm, though, lies in the familial feel of the place. The owners, a husband-and-wife duo, often greet guests personally, while the staff exudes genuine warmth, treating every diner like a regular. Whether you’re an art lover, a foodie, or simply someone seeking a memorable dining experience, Spoon River is a destination that feeds both your appetite and your soul. It’s a place where creativity meets comfort and where every visit feels like coming home. Oh... and don't forget to leave room for dessert! I will leave to be a surprise for you!
